I have been asked to send additional documents to continue with the processing of my application
If the Nonimmigrant Visa Unit has asked you for additional documents, you are required to scan and email the documents to the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not send the documents by Royal Mail or courier as this will considerably delay your application.
Please note that this email address is for the submission of scanned documents only. Inquires received will be deleted.
How do I send my passport?
Once you receive the email requesting your passport, you are required to arrange for the delivery by going to https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb and sign into your account. Click on the link “Print Instructions” and then “View Courier-in Receipt” at the bottom of the page and print the Courier-In Authorization Certificate. Take the certificate and your passport to to your chosen courier location. You will not be charged for the courier service.
If you submit your passport to the Embassy before advised to do so, your passport will be returned to you to await completion of the additional administrative processing.
Please note: that for nonimmigrant visa applicants, the authorized method to send your passport and/or documents to the Embassy is through the contracted courier. This service is already included as part of the visa fee that you have paid and will not incur any additional costs. We are generally not able to accept passports and documents sent by other methods. Numerous applicants have reported issues using alternate shipping methods, including lost passports. The Nonimmigrant Visa Unit cannot assume responsibility for any lost or damaged passports/documents that are not submitted through the contracted courier.
I applied for a visa before December 14 and have been checking the status on line. Why can I no longer do this?

How long will it take to process the application once I send you my passport?
Your application will take between 7 – 10 workdays to process. Once processing is complete, your passport will be handed to courier service for delivery and on receipt, they will send you an email with a tracking number. You can track the delivery of your passport by signing into your account at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb. Your passport will be delivered to your chosen delivery location.
We strongly advise you not to purchase any tickets for travel to the United States or make irrevocable travel plans until after you have been issued a visa and your passport has been returned to you.
Can I submit my passport for visa issuance from outside the U.K.?
It is not possible to submit a passport to the U.S. Embassy, London for visa issuance from outside the U.K.
Applicants are required to submit their passport to the Embassy within the U.K. for return delivery to a U.K. address.
