Immigrant visa applicants applying for a visa through the Immigrant Visa Unit at the Embassy who have completed the DS-260, and fiancé(e) visa applicants who have completed the DS-160 can check the status of their application online. If your application is being processed by the National Visa Center (NVC), the only “status check” that will apply in your case is “In-Transit” Any questions you may have concerning your application should be directed to NVC.
If you enter the DS-260 or DS-160 barcode and your case number, you will receive one of the following messages:
In-Transit
The National Visa Center has processed your application and scheduled the visa interview. Your case is currently being transferred to the Immigrant Visa Unit at the Embassy.
Action Required: If you wish to amend any information in your application or change the date of your visa interview you are required to wait until your “status” changes to “Ready” and contact us through the “Contact Us Tab” on the website.
Please note, however, that the Immigrant Visa Unit will reschedule an appointment in very limited circumstances. We strongly recommend, therefore, that you attend the interview. In some cases, applicants experience delays of several months before a new appointment date is allocated.

If you have not received the letter confirming that the Immigrant Visa Unit has received your case, please contact us through our contact form to confirm the full name and UK mailing address of the visa applicant, the full name of the petitioner, and the date of petition approval.
