How do I apply for a Social Security?
If you need to apply for a new or replacement U.S. Social Security Number (SSN) for yourself or a child, please follow the relevant option on our Social Security Number page.
Do you have a telephone service?
Yes. Please note this is a very busy service and calls are answered in-order. The telephone service is unavailable on the last every Thursday of every month for internal training purposes.

How can I request a Medicare Card online if the system does not accept my UK postcode ?
The Center for Medicare Services online registration process does NOT accept foreign postal codes.
You can request a replacement Medicare Card through our London office.
Please email FBU.London@ssa.gov with subject line “CMS Medicare Card” and provide your Name, Address and the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN).
Please allow 4-6 weeks for your card to arrive.
