If a crime is in progress or you are in danger, you should dial 999, the emergency services telephone number in the UK. They can provide emergency police, ambulance and/or fire services.
You should dial 101 to report a crime that is not an emergency, to give non-emergency information to the police and to make enquiries.
If you are in the United States and you need to contact the UK emergency services on behalf of someone in the UK, you should dial 011 44 999 for emergency police, ambulance and/or fire services, or 011 44 101 for non-emergency police services.
