Surveying the U.S. Embassy London building   The new U.S. Embassy building in London is now officially on the map!   On December 18, Ordnance Survey (OS) was joined by Deputy Chief of Mission, Lew Lukens, from the U.S. Embassy to accurately survey and map the new building.

Acting Ambassador Lukens visited RAF Lakenheath last week and got the opportunity to co-pilot an F15 of the 48th Fighter Wing squadron. Photos are on Flickr and the video is below!

On the second day of his visit to Manchester Chargé d’affaires Lukens visited the National Graphene Institute (NGI), the UK’s national centre for graphene research.  Graphene is some 200 times stronger than steel yet 6 times lighter and promises a materials revolution.  The Chargé later addressed guests at the Institute.  Photos are on Flickr.
