In observance of the State Funeral of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and resulting UK bank holiday, many shops, pharmacies, groceries, and other food outlets will be closed on Monday, September 19, 2022. Some shops and restaurants will reopen at 17:00 on September 19, while others will remain closed until Tuesday, September 20, 2022. In London, transportation disruptions and road closures are anticipated. The U.S. Embassy in London and the U.S. Consulates General in Belfast and Edinburgh will also be closed and consular services will be unavailable during this time.
U.S. citizens in the United Kingdom are urged to monitor local media and consult the sites below, and to plan accordingly.
