The U.S. Embassy’s Facility Management (FM) section is searching for an Engineer to join them at the New London Embassy (NLE).

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will provide construction and maintenance contract development services for the Facilities Maintenance Division. Duties will include overseeing contract management and providing technical engineering support for the Mission in London, as well as, facility operations at the U.S. Consulates in Belfast and Edinburgh. The project specifications and technical advice encompasses electrical, mechanical, and civil/structural engineering requirements. Project oversight includes planning, cost estimation, design, construction, inspection, and reception of works.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

EDUCATION:
Graduate engineer with B.S. degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.

EXPERIENCE:
Prior work experience in an engineering firm performing design and construction services.

LANGUAGE:
Level IV (Fluent) in English with proficiency in the specialized vocabulary required by the duty of the position.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Professional knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to a full range of duties concerned with the design, layout, and construction of facilities.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to operate a personal computer. Fluent in using Microsoft Office, and project management software is required. Ability to read and understand engineering and architectural plans and building schematics. Ability to handle multi-tasking and complicated projects. Proficient with AutoCAD software. Registered as a professional engineer.
