Service Hours

Our regular business hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.  Please note that we are closed on U.S. and U.K. public holidays.

How to Book an Appointment in Edinburgh

PASSPORT SERVICES
If you need to renew an adult passport, do not have confirmed travel within the next 3 weeks, and are eligible for passport renewal by-mail, you must follow the instructions at Adult Passport Renewal page, to submit your application by mail to Embassy London. Any applicants who meet the above criteria will not be considered for an in-person appointment.

If you need to apply for a passport and you have imminent confirmed travel (within the next 4 weeks), please email Edinburgh-Info@state.gov explaining your circumstances for advice.

OTHER U.S. CITIZEN SERVICES
For any other U.S. Citizen Service, please send an email to Edinburgh-Info@state.gov to book an appointment in advance. In the case of a genuine emergency involving a U.S. citizen outside normal business hours, please phone 020 7499 9000 if dialing from the UK , 011 44 207 499 9000 if dialing from the United States.
