Salary:
With a current HGV (Class 2) and D1 Mini Bus driving license: £29,190 gross starting salary per annum, (consisting of: basic salary £25,007, London weighting £2,100 and bonus £2,083).

Without a current HGV (Class 2) and D1 Mini Bus driving license: £27,184 gross starting salary per annum, (consisting of: basic salary £23,155, London weighting £2,100 and bonus £1,929).

Are you a strong team player? Are you known for your outstanding customer service skills? As part of a highly regarded team of Chauffeurs based at the U.S. Embassy, London, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of their busy Motor Pool.

As a Chauffeur, you will be representing the U.S. Government (USG), operating USG vehicles, to include Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and minibuses, on London streets.

In the course of your duties, you will interact with a wide range of personnel, transporting USG officials and their dependents to various destinations to include the Embassy and UK airports, among other locations. As such, we are in search of a new team member who is at ease greeting customers with confidence and has a strong knowledge of London, the local area and the airports.

Other duties will include: ensuring that all cars are clean and reflective of the Embassy standards; performing routine maintenance and other duties as assigned.

We require that you have a flexible schedule, to include weekends, late nights and early mornings.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

EDUCATION:
Completion of Secondary School or equivalent qualification is required.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience as a professional driver (not necessarily a chauffeur) with a valid, full (manual) UK/EU/EEA driver’s license is required.

LANGUAGE:
Level III, good working knowledge of written and spoken English is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Thorough knowledge of Greater London, and a good working knowledge of Government Buildings and Military establishments throughout the country is required. 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Incumbent has professional driving skills, a courteous manner and discretion. The incumbent has good interpersonal and problem solving skills in expediting and dispatching roles. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include mornings, evenings and weekends. Must possess a valid, full (manual) UK/EU/EEA driver’s license. The incumbent must have excellent customer care skills and be able to work well in a team setting. Must have the ability to drive in a formal professional environment.
